Drinking water Inspectorate Approvals (DWI) – A new challenge for Primotek

The growing reputation of Primotek Associates Limited as a consultant specialising in UK approvals presented a new challenge recently when faced with questions concerning WRAS approval for articulated potable water tankers (sometimes called bowsers).

Primotek investigated this thoroughly, knowing that a WRAS approval for the complete bowser was not possible and only that any non-metallic components that came into contact with drinking water were likely to require assessment by WRc-NSF.

The manufacturer of the water tanker required an approval for the complete item rather than individual components and therefore discussions commenced with the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) to assess the suitability of the water tanker for an approval under Regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000.

Primotek held detailed discussions with DWI, completing all required application data including the preparation of a detailed “Instructions for Use” document and successfully secured the approval, ahead of schedule and under budget!

Research was key to the successful application – a time consuming exercise that many companies cannot free up time to do- Let Primotek handle this for you whilst you deal with today’s other urgent issues!
