WRAS Approvals – Primotek engaged to assist Overseas Companies

A core activity of our business model was to support clients by assisting with Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) applications.

The WRAS approves water fittings and materials that meet the minimum requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 in England and Wales, The Water Byelaws 2000 in Scotland and the Water Regulations in Northern Ireland. The approvals are granted by a panel of experts from the Water Supply Industry who meet regularly to review the fittings and the reports on any tests that have been undertaken.

Products granted WRAS Approved Product status are assessed and approved by WRc-NSF on behalf of the UK Water Industry,which allows products to be installed in domestic water systems for use on potable water applications.

Submitting an application for WRAS approval can be a time consuming and confusing process, particularly for manufacturers overseas whose first language is not English.

Primotek Associates Limited has assisted a number of overseas companies in obtaining WRAS approvals.

When Primotek undertakes this work, we take over the complete process on behalf of our client, assessing product designs and materials, completing all application forms, organising samples for testing, liaising with WRc-NSF as required during the assessment process, and then handing over the certificate and the listing details in the Water Fittings and Materials Directory at the end of the process.
